This Paris based – but with some UK roots- music house has been fighting for early 20 years now to defend indie and qualitative music projects under the gouvernance of Julien Banes, one of my favorite label manager… 🙂
For almost 20 years now, the french label UPTON PARK has developed an eclectic & qualitative catalog through very different kind of artists like the still active Matmatah (french rock), Stuck in the Sound (indie rock), NSDOS (electronic), Svinkels (hip-hop), Thomas Howard Memorial (psychedelic pop), or more recently Skopitone Sisko (indie pop), Alexandrie and Cancre (French pop), Rose Tiger, Parapendu, La Battue, I’M TAKT, This is Shit … to name a few. Upton Park also extended its activities on managing some of its artists, publishing songs for Catfish, Bigger or Robin Foster, and even managing publishing rights for companies like Diskoloandia (Sarah W Papsun, Airnadette, Chambre Noire) & Éditions Levallois (world music catalog).
Recently Upton Park has also acquired some new very exciting Catalogues like Tigersushi Label’s one and also all the publishing rights from the great artist Nosfell.
This protean structure continues its very active talent scouting hard work, between Brittany and Great Britain, between pop and rock, between French and English songs… with a few excursions into the urban, hip-hop or even electro, following the crushes and happy & deep feelings of the Boss and super A.D of the Label, Julien Banes.
